Amal Details
Laylatun Nisf is one of the 4 nights Amirul Mumineen SA urged should be reserved purely for ibadat and the worship of Allah Ta'ala. Mumineen should take barakaat on this auspicious occasion and follow the amal details below. Amal details in Dawat ni Zaban may also be found here from Sahifat-us-Salaat.
- Perform gusul on this auspicious occasion, taking the following niyyat:
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنِّيْ نَوَيْتُ طُهُوْرِيْ هَذَا لِغُسْلِ لَيْلَةِ النِّصْفِ مِنْ شَهْرِ شَعْبَانَ الْكَرِيْمِ بِسْمِ اللهِ اَللهُ اَكْبَر
- Pray Maghrib Isha Namaz with sunnat and nafilat.
- Pray 14 rakat Washeq. In each rakat pray: Surat al-Hamd 14 times, Surat Qul huwa-allahu Ahad 14 times, Surat Qul-a’uzu birabbil falaq 14 times, Surat Qul a’uzu bi rabbin-naas 14 times, and Ayatul-Kursi once. Niyyat is as follows:
اُصَلِّيْ صَلَوةَ هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ الْمُبَارَكَةِ الشَّرِيْفَةِ لَيْلَةِ النِّصْفِ مِنْ شَهْرِ شَعْبَانَ الْكَرِيْمِ اَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ رَكَعْةً لِلهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ اَدَاءً مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْكَعْبَةِ الْحَرَامِ اَللهُ اَكْبَر
- Pray Thum Washeq Doa (The doa may be found with English translation here).
اَللّهُمَّ يَا ذَا الْمَنِّ لَا يُمَنُّ عَلَيْكَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْاِكْرَامِ * يَا ذَا الْطَوْلِ وَالْاِنْعَامِ * لَا اِلهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ يَا ظَهْرَ اللَّاجِيْنَ * وَيَا جَارَ الْمُسْتَجِيْرِيْنَ * وَيَا صَرِيْخَ الْمُسْتَصْرِخِيْنَ * وَيَا مُجِيْبَ دَعْوَةِ الْمُضْطَرِّيْنَ * وَيَا نَاصِرَ الْمَظْلُوْمِيْنَ * وَيَا غِيَاثَ الْمُسْتَغِيْثِيْنَ * وَيَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ * اِلهِيْ اِنْ كُنْتَ كَتَبْتَنِيْ فِيْ اُمِّ الْكِتَابِ عِنْدَكَ شَقِيًّا فَقِيْرًا فَامْحُ عَنِّيْ اِسْمَ الْفَقْرِ وَالشَّقَاوَةِ * وَاَثْبِتْنِيْ عِنْدَكَ سَعِيْدًا غَنِيًّا * وَاِنْ كُنْتَ كَتَبْتَنِيْ فِيْ اُمِّ الْكِتَابِ عِنْدَكَ مَحْرُوْمًا مُقَتَّرًا عَلَيَّ رِزْقِيْ * فَامْحُ عَنِّيْ حِرْمَانِيْ وَتَقْتِيْرَ رِزْقِيْ * فَاِنَّكَ قُلْتَ فِيْ كِتَابِكَ الْكَرِيْمِ الْمُنَزَّلِ عَلَى نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ * يَمْحُو اللهُ مَا يَشَاءُ وَيُثْبِتُ وَعِنْدَهُ اُمُّ الْكِتَابِ * وَقُلْتَ وَاَنْتَ اَصْدَقُ الْقَائِلِيْنَ * وَسِعَتْ رَحْمَتِيْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ * فَلْتَسَعْنِيْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ *
- Pray Sajadawajhi doa (Wasila Mubaraka below contains Sajadawajhi doa recitation).

In the month of Shabaan, the month of Rasulullah SA, the eve of the 15th of Shabaan (lailatun-nisf) the night in which Rasulullah was divinely instructed to face the Ka’ba, Masjid-e-Haraam, when praying namaaz. (Earlier, namaaz was prayed facing Masjid-e-Aqsa). On this mubarak day, we are pleased to present audio excerpts from Syedna Burhanuddin RA's first misaq majlis, held at Saifee Masjid on 17mi Shabaan 1385H. In the first excerpt, Syedna Burhanuddin appoints Syedna Qutbuddin. In the second excerpt, the extreme similarity in the do'a that Syedna Burhanuddin does for himself is juxtaposed with the almost identical do'a that he performs for his Mansoos, Syedna Qutbuddin.
