Most people understand progress in the context of technology - to make things faster: if a car can go from 0-60mph in three seconds instead of four seconds, that is progress. Advances in technology can be utilized in beneficial ways, but what is the true meaning of "progress" for human beings and how can we achieve it?

Rasulullah SA said that one day of fever atones for a year of sins. However Allah’s Awliya’, Rasullullah and the Imams are Ma’sum (infallible) and during the time of the Imam’s seclusion their Da’i-s are kal-ma’sum (infallible like the Imam) – so why does illness afflict them?

Literally, fulfilling an oath is to follow through on a promise – to remain faithful and never betray one’s word, to follow through regardless of the hardships and consequences. This characteristic of being truthful to one’s word, wafadari, is highly regarded. But what does fulfillment of an oath truly mean?
