Mab'as Waaz: Believe in the Truth

25 September 2014

'Who, then, is more wrong than one who utters a lie concerning Allah, and rejects the Truth when it comes to him; is there not in Hell an abode for blasphemers? And he who brings the Truth and confirms (and supports) it – such are the men who do right.'

(Surat ul Zumar – 32-33)

This article was written by Ra'sul Hududil Mayameen Janab Syedi Aziz Bhaisaheb Qutbuddin in 2014.

On the 27th of Rajab, the mubarak day of Mab’as, Syedna Qutbuddin TUS delivered waaz mubarak to Mumineen in Bakersfield, California. With the ta’yeed and inspiration of Imam-uz-zaman SA, the Imam’s Dai illuminated mumineen’s souls with the ‘ilm of Aal-e-Mohammad and strengthened their aqeeda in the silisila and continuity of the Du’at in the time of satr. It is a challenging task to try and convey the depth, vision and sincerity of Syedna’s bayaan in a short essay. This is, however, a humble effort to give a glimpse to Mumineen of the Mab’as waaz. Selected video excerpts of the waaz have also been presented on Fatemidawat.com with subtitles. Following the waaz Syedna prayed Ahdul Awliya’ and took the Misaq of his grandchildren, Aamenah baisab and Khuzaima bhaisab, children of Shz. Taher bhaisaheb. Mumineen Muminaat who had gathered for the occasion also gave Misaq to the 53rd Dai al-Mutlaq Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin TUS.

In the waaz, Syedna expounded on the beginning of the eternal Da’wat that was established when the universe was created and it still continues on this earth today. He added that on this earth it is humanbeings, insaan, who are enabled through the gift of intellect to accept the divine call of the Da’wat. (There are those who say that there is no place for the intellect in religion, ‘only the heart’, how unintelligent they are!) Rasulullah SA made this call (to Dawat) on the Day of Mab’as and he was answered by Maulatuna Khadija and Maulana Ali SA. As the first man to answer Rasulullah’s SA call and believe in him, Maulana Ali SA is called the greatest believer (siddeeqe-akbar): the one who believed Rasulullah (sachaaya) when he told him that God is One and Muhammad is His messenger, and that the purpose of this world is ultimately the Hereafter.

Rasulullah spoke the Truth and those who believed Rasulullah SA (sachaaya) were intelligent (aqalmand).Rasulullah SA addressed the intellect and guided people to the Hereafter with his divine knowledge (Da’wat nu ‘Ilm), knowledge that is all encompassing. The divine knowledge given to Rasulullah SA surpassed the knowledge that was given to all Prophets and anbiyaa’ before him. It is this divine knowledge which Rasulullah’s wasiyy Maulana Ali has, it is this knowledge that every Imam has and it is this knowledge that in the time of the Imam’s seclusion every Dai treasures in his heart. Just as Rasulullah called mumineen towards the recitation of la-ilaaha-illa-Allah, the Imam’s Dai continues to call mumineen towards this kalema, and its embedded meanings that outweigh this universe.

Syedna then stressed that the Dai is the one who has received the Nass of the Imam, one after another a Dai is appointed with the ilhaam and ta’yeed of the Imam. The appointment is attributed to the Imam himself. According to our doctrine, the Dai does not appoint anyone except one who is like him in every way (لا يقيم الا مثله). As the Imam is infallible (Ma’sum), his Dai is just like him (kal-Ma’sum) and no error is ever possible in the appointment of a successor. Once appointed that successor may become the Dai at anytime and therefore he must be in that elevated position as a successor and like him in every way at the time of appointment. Therefore, the idea that an appointment can and would be changed is doctrinally outrageous; it would mean that the Imam to whom the decision is attributed, made an error – God forbid.

Syedna emphatically stated that ‘I am the True Dai, I speak the Truth, whoever believes it is his good fortune, whoever does not it is his loss. How many believed Rasuullah SA? How many followed Maulana Ali? Ten percent? It is the people of Ma’rifat – those who with the proper aqeeda acknowledge the true Dai and guide in their age – that count. It is your choice to believe, but remember it is a matter of Heaven and Hell’. Syedna also stressed that when Syedna Burhanuddin RA appointed him he gave him his ring saying that, “you will serve the Imam’s Da’wat after me.” Syedna Burhanuddin also said that this ring belonged to Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA, who used to wear it, and he gave it to Syedna Burhanuddin when he appointed him as his successor. Syedna Burhanuddin used to wear that ring and gave it to Syedna Qutbuddin. Syedna Taher Saifuddin in his risalah narrates a similar event in Da’wats history: the 35th Dai Syedna Abut-Tayyeb Zakiuddin gave his ring to his son and successor the 36th Dai Syedna Musa Kalimuddin while appointing him as successor. He also gave a ring to his grandson the 37th Dai Syedna Nooruddin indicating his wishes that he should succeed his son. Syedna Taher Saifuddin states in his risalat that this ring is the sign of the Rutba of Itlaaq – the Dai al-Mutlaq.

Syedna Qutbuddin stated that his appointment as Mazoon and Mansoos happened over 50 years ago and Syedna Burhanuddin took his name in the first Misaaq and continued to do so until the very last Misaaq. Syedna Qutbuddin remained as Mazoon for 50 years serving Syedna Burhanuddin. Syedna Qutbuddin stated that those who were jealous tried their best to pressure Syedna Burhanuddin to remove him from the position of Mazoon. Syedna Qutbuddin said that it has happened in the past that a Dai’s family has gone astray. Syedna Da’ud bin Ajabshah’s entire family turned away from his true successor , Syedna Da’ud bin Qutubshah, and they instead followed the false claimant. The false claimant at that time also presented a forged letter purported to have been written by Syedna Da’ud bin Ajabshah.

Syedna Qutbuddin addressed the diary produced by the false claimant today and said that Syedna Burhanuddin had reaffirmed the Nass on Syedna Qutbuddin many times after the date on which they claim the diary entry was written. Syedna TUS stressed that he speaks the Truth. Just as the early Muslims, the first of them being Maulana Ali SA, believed that Rasulullah was speaking the Truth; they trusted him and believed him. As Syedna Burhanuddin’s trusted Mazoon for 50 years, Syedna Qutbuddin urged mumineen to believe him. He urged mumineen not to let worldly considerations take priority over considerations of Hereafter. He finally stated that “I first say this with compassion: give allegiance to the True Dai and accept him, if not, then it is each individual’s fate, (the Qur’an states) ‘whomsoever wishes believes and whomsoever wishes disblieves’ (ومن شاء فليؤمن ومن شاء فليكفر) . He who answers my call will fulfill his purpose – a righteous and good life in this world, and in the Hereafter he will gain the intercession of the Imam and his Dai.” Ultimately, as the Quranic ayat at the beginning of this Sijill suggests, there are many who disbelieved (jhutaaya) when the Truth was presented to them. But, then there were those who did believe (sachaaya) and ‘they are indeed the men who do right’.

How can we help?
