"Go with your Lord and Fight, we are sitting here"

06 March 2015

'They [the people of Musa’s Dawat] said, 'O Moses, we will never enter it so long as they [Musa’s enemies] are in it. So go forth, you and your Lord, and fight, we will be sitting here.’'

(Surat al-Ma’idah: 21-24)

This article was written by Ra'sul Hududil Mayameen Janab Syedi Aziz Bhaisaheb Qutbuddin in 2015.

The Qur’anic Ayat quoted above is in the context of the story of Nabi Musa AS. As it is narrated in the Qur’an, Nabi Musa AS urged his people to enter the Holy Land (ard muqaddasa) and not to turn back in fear:

Musa said, “O my people, enter the Holy Land which God has ordained for you, and do not turn back in flight, or you will end up as losers” They said, “O Moses, there are giants in it; we will never enter it until they depart from it; if they depart from it only then will we enter'. Then said two men who were God fearing and to whom God had been gracious, “Enter against them [the giants] by the gate! For if you enter by it, you will be victorious. Put your trust in God, if indeed you are believers.” (Surat al-Maida: 21-23). The people responded, “we will never enter [the gate] as long as they [the giants] are in it. So go forth, you and your Lord, and fight, we will be sitting here.” Musa beseeched Allah Ta’ala, “My Lord, I control none but myself and my brother. So separate us from these pernicious people'. Allah ta’ala responded, “Then it shall be forbidden them for forty years, they shall wander lost in the earth; so do not grieve for the pernicious people” (Surat al-Maida: 24-26).

Nabi Musa AS, despite the lame response of his followers, persevered without their help, and succeeded in the Dawat’s mission.

The conviction of each Nabi, each Imam and, in the Imam’s seclusion, each Dai is unshakable. This same conviction is manifest in the 53rd Dai, Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin TUS.

As the date for the final hearing for the Court Case nears (the final hearing and Syedna’s testimony and cross examination is scheduled to begin on 18th March), may Allah Ta’ala grant us the strength to be like the two God fearing men who put their trust in Allah Ta’ala, and stand by Dai of Imam uz Zaman. May God spare us the fate of the people who forsook and abandoned Musa AS

How can we help?
