Shabab & Bunayyat Milad Program

27 December 2020

(Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA presides over Shabab inaugural program during his Golden Jubilee Milad celebrations)

Syedna Taher Fakhruddin’s 55th Milad this year was historic for more than one reason. The festivities of the Milad largely took place online, whereby Mumineen and Muminaat were able to take barakaat of Maulana TUS’s bayaan mubarak and araz shukur and tehniyat to Maulana TUS. On this occasion, Syedna Taher Fakhruddin revived the organizations of Shabaab-ul-Eid-iz-Zahabi (young men) and Bunayyatul-Eid-iz-Zahabi (young women), organizations which were established by Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA, the 51st Dai-al-Mutlaq, reigns of which were handed over to his most beloved son, Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin RA. Syedna Taher Fakhruddin in his bayaan noted that the shabaab organization was responsible for a large array of activities, which were undertaken for the welfare of the Dawoodi Bohra community. It was due to the activities of the shabaab, that many Mumineen, who were not as involved in performing khidmat, started taking an active role and participated wholeheartedly in khidmat. The leadership of the Shabaab and Bunayyat organizations was entrusted by Maulana TUS to Shehzada Khuzaima Bhaisaheb and Shehzadi Aamenah Bensaheba respectively.

The first event of the newly revived organizations, a meet and greet amongst the young men and women of the community from USA, India, UK, Africa, Singapore etc. took place on 13th December 2020 with the raza mubarak of Maulana TUS.The event was organized with the following long term aims and objectives:

  1. To come together as a community of young minds to serve our Dai and Dawat.
  2. To know and be aware of young Mumineen of our community across the world.
  3. To facilitate an exchange of thought and ideas amongst the young members of our community.
  4. To make new relations and bonds and strengthen present ones.
  5. To create a network of individuals which could, with time, help each other and other members of our community professionally, personally, and in any other way possible.

The event began with an opening speech from Shehzadi Aamenah Bensaheba, stressing the importance and purpose of the organizations and welcoming everyone to the event. All the people who had participated were divided into 5 different groups, with each group having a moderator to facilitate discussions on religion, politics, social causes, the present pandemic and a wide array of topics, as well as some lighthearted conversation to get to know one another. The event was divided into 2 sessions of 45 minutes each, and at the end of each session, the groups were re-shuffled to facilitate interaction amongst more people.

After the sessions, the event was closed by a short speech by Shehzada Khuzaima Bhaisaheb, elaborating on the purpose of the meet and wishing that more such events can take place, with the intention of serving the Fatemi Dawat and our Fatemi Dai. Youngsters left the event with smiles, wishing for the next event to happen soon.

The Dawoodi Bohra Community’s future rests on the shoulders of young women and men and their willingness to play a major role in the community affairs. Thus, Syedna Taher Fakhruddin, by reviving these organizations, has encouraged young members of the community to meaningfully take initiative and aid the Dawoodi Bohara community and its members. May Allah Subhanahu grant Syedna Taher Fakhruddin a long life and may under his guidance, the organizations of Shabaab and Bunayyat grow, prosper and bring the community closer.

How can we help?
