Boston Ashara Mubaraka 1440H - Shehzada Dr Aziz Bhaisaheb Qutbuddin

13 November 2018

This year, Syedna Taher Fakhruddin TUS graciously deputed Hafizul Qur’an Shehzada Dr. Aziz Bhaisaheb Qutbuddin for Ashara Mubaraka khidmat in Boston, USA. Shehzada Dr. Aziz Bhaisaheb delivered waaz from 5th Muharram to Yaum-e-Aashura 1440H and began his first waaz with a clear explanation of who we are as Mumineen. Shehzada Aziz Bhaisaheb explained that Mumineen are those who have ma’refat (recognition and understanding) of Panjatan Paak, Aimmat Tahereen, and Du’at Mutlaqeen, delineating the silsila (chain of succession) of our Dawat, from Rasulullah SA to the Imam uz zaman. In every day and age an Imam in Rasululilah’s SA progeny is present. While Imam uz Zaman is in seclusion, his Duat Mutlaqeen, in the name of Tayyeb Imam SA, have guided Mumineen on the path of truth. Our Dai uz Zaman, Syedna Taher Fakhruddin TUS, guides us in our ma’arifat of Panjetan, Imams, and Duats. Shehzada Aziz Bhaisaheb went on to explain that this chain, from Imam to Imam and from Dai to Dai, represents the rope of Allah (hablullah) that connects each Mumin ultimately to Allah Ta’ala. The strength and integrity of this rope is absolute and inviolable. In the Quran Majeed we are commanded to hold fast to the path of Allah, to hold fast to the Rope of Allah. This is the essence of our faith as Mumineen.

In each waaz Shehzada Aziz Bhaisaheb illuminated the majlis with pearls of wisdom from the ‘ilm of our Aimmat Tahereen and Du’at Mutlaqeen.

In the 5th Muharram waaz he narrated the history of the Prophets (Anbiya), especially Musa AS, and the deeper meaning behind their teachings. Shehzada Aziz Bhaisaheb, explained the Quranic ayat describing the six stages of conception and growth of a child in the womb and its significance in understanding the progression and development of religion since the beginning of time – each Prophet (Naatiq) brought forth a new face of religion, leading to Rasullulah SA who brought forth the most complete form, Shari’at Kaamila. In this waaz he also delivered tawjih bayaan about Musa’s AS staff and explained five chapters. Thereafter, he narrated the Quranic ayat about the importance of taking care and respecting one’s parents. Aziz bhaisaheb explained that our Awliyaullah have guided that when your parents become old it is incumbent on their children to take care of them as their parents did when they were young.

In the 6th Muharram waaz Shehzada Aziz bhaisaheb narrated Rasullulah SA history expressing throughout the historical accounts, starting at Rasullulah’s birth, our Nabi’s shaan and strengthening Mumineen’s ma’arifat. Shehzada Aziz Bhaisaheb explained why the attitude of “It is between me and God,” and disregarding Anbiya and Allah Ta’ala’s messenger is incorrect and detrimental: God himself is the one who sent his Messenger, and Rasullulah said himself that if you follow me then only will God accept your submission. Rasullulah also said, “I don’t ask for any compensation from you except for the mohabbat of my Ahle Bayt Aimmat Tahereen.” Shz Aziz Bhaisaheb described the various hardships Rasullulah faced in the beginning when establishing Islam. He relayed numerous anecdotes that highlighted Rasullulah’s character and resolve and faith in Allah Ta’ala. In this waaz Shz Aziz Bhaisaheb emphasized the importance of misaaq to Haqq na Sahib. He also explained six remedies for good mental health and did tawjih bayaan explaining the five chapters of rehmat.

In the 7th Muharram waaz, Shehzada Aziz Bhaisaheb narrated the shaan of Maulatuna Fatema and the importance of understanding her high stature and position, as the Hujjat of Amirul Mumineen SA, and mother to all Aimmat Tahereen. Shz Aziz Bhaisaheb explained the significance of Maulatuna Fatema’s marriage to Maulana Ali. In this waaz, Shz Aziz Bhaisaheb also explained the importance of wasila and doa. He wove these themes by narrating many incidents from Maulatuna Fatema’s life such as her doa for the Mumineen before her wafaat. Shz Aziz Bhaisaheb also narrated from Imam Zainul Abideen’s doas and narrated many personal experiences of the powerful impact of Syedna Taher Saifuddin and Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin doa mubarak. He advised Mumineen to value the immense gift of our Dai’s doa, it is only when received with true sincerity can one can truly benefit from it.

In the 9th Muharram waaz, Hasan Imam’s SA waaz, Shehzada Aziz Bhaisaheb focused on hasanaat (good deeds). He explained the Quranic ayat which appeals to people with intellect to use their logic to find the Truth. Shz Aziz Bhaisaheb elaborated that this is the opposite of the concept of “blind faith,” you must understand the Truth by opening up your mind, not closing it. Shz Aziz Bhaisaheb narrated many zikrs about good deeds (hasanaat) and their importance in this world and in the next. He emphasized that we act on the lessons of Awliyaullah teach us about goodness of character, prayer and values. Shz Aziz Bhaisaheb quoted Rasullulah’s hadith, “Hasan SA and Husain Imam are the leaders of the youth [in Jannat].” He narrated many zikrs about the shaan of Hasan Imam and Husain Imam such as Rasullulah’s gift of forbearance (hilm) and awe-inspiring presence (haybat) to Hasan Imam and generosity (jud) and courage (najdat) to Husain Imam. In this waaz Shz Aziz Bhaisaheb with great conviction and clarity did tawjih bayaan of the word “ma’ad” (to return). In this tawjih bayaan Shz Aziz Bhaisaheb did tasbih of the names of Aimmat and also narrated a brief historical account of Du’at Mutlaqeen, highlighting the shaan and immense sacrifices that Du’at have made throughout the ages for Mumineen.

Each waaz was concluded with Shezada Aziz Bhaisaheb reciting the shahadat of Imam Husain with great force and intensity, bringing tears to each Mumin’s eyes and cries of “Ya Hussain!”. Shz Aziz Bhaisaheb emphasized in each waaz that as faithful Mumineen, we are beyond fortunate to be under the shafa’at of our Saheb-uz-zaman. Shehzada Aziz bhaisaheb’s sincere and heartfelt waaz, moved Mumineen each day and all who attended realized how blessed they were to be Mumineen and to be present in these Majaalis. Mumineen expressed a strengthened and renewed sense of community. Mumineen remembered Aqa Husain SA each day with tears of grief and renewed their understanding of his sacrifice the sacrifices each must make to hold fast to Hablullah.

After days of delivering precious knowledge of history and the hidden, deep (batin) bayan of our Awliyaullah, his passionate delivery of the Maqtal Bayan brought the manzar (vision) of Karbala on Aashura day before Mumineen’s eyes. Shz Aziz Bhaisaheb roused Mumineen with prayer of Imam Husain’s AS shahadat on Ashura. The outpouring of sorrow was palpable as Mumineen cried and did maatam while he recounted the tragedy that Imam Husain AS, his Ahl-e-Bayt, and his Ashaab endured at the hands of Yazid. Shz Aziz Bhaisaheb’s powerful oration stirred the hearts of every Mumin, bringing forth tears which ensured darajaat in Jannat.

Mumineen arazed shukur in Hazrat Imamiyyah for this ne’mat.
