Syedna Fakhruddin TUS Commences Three Monthly Sunnat Rozas

08 February 2017

With the Ilhaam of Imam-uz-Zaman SA, Syedna Taher Fakhruddin TUS has resolved (fasal mubarak) to commence regular performance of the three tatawwu’ roza prescribed by Rasulullah SA: each month, the first and last Thursday, and the middle Wednesday.

Syedna Fakhruddin will begin this mubarak sunnat-amal from this month. He has encouraged that all Mumineen Muminaat who are able to do so (imkaan hoi toh) should fast.

The first roza for the month was on Thursday 6 Jumadal Ula (02 February 2017). The next roza is on Wednesday 12 Jumadal Ula (08 February), insha’allah. The final roza of the month will be on Thursday 27 Jumadal Ula (23th February).

The divine reward for this deed is truly abundant. Rasulullah SA said:

Whosoever fasts three days of each month obtains the reward of one who fasts the whole year. For Allah Ta'ala has promised that “Whosoever brings forth one good deed, hasanat, will be granted a ten-fold reward."

مَن جَآءَ بِٱلْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا

Surat al-An’am Ayat 160

In this way, those who perform three rozas every month obtain the reward of thirty. It is as though they fast the full month every month

Syedna Qadi l-Nu’man narrates this report in the Da’a’im al-Islam, and he writes that Maulana Ali, Muhammad al-Baqir Imam, and Ja’far us Sadiq Imam have all narrated this hadith. He also cites a report from Imam Ja’far us Sadiq, who characterizes these rozas as “sunnat” rozas, to be performed in addition to the “farizat” rozas of Shehre Ramadan, marking them as “Wednesday between two Thursdays” of each month.

May Allah Ta’ala grant our Dai-z-zaman Syedna Fakhruddin longest life till Qiyamat. May he continue to uphold Rasulullah’s Shariat and guide us on the path of Hidayat. May Allah grant us strength and tawfeeq to perform Allah’s bandagi with devotion and eagerness, and to serve our Maula with humility and gratitude.

How can we help?
