The Fatemi Dawat Mas’ul Coordination Committee is pleased to announce a webinar on Diabetes and Obesity. This will be a live interactive webinar session, the fifth in the Community Conversations Series, about two very serious diseases that impact a lot of people. Unfortunately there are 72.96 million cases of diabetes in the adult population of India today and it is said to affect one in every ten people worldwide. Obesity is a medical problem that increases the risk of other medical issues and health problems, such as heart disease and diabetes. In this webinar, our esteemed panelists of doctors and nutritionists will provide valuable information and discuss and share advice for healthy living.

Dr Quresh Khairullah: MD FACP. Nephrologist in private group practice since 1995. Specialising in kidney disease, hypertension, kidney transplant, and dialysis. Fellowship faculty at John Hospital, Head of Home Dialysis.

Dr Fehmida Chipty: Received her BA in Biochemistry and Political Science at Wellesley College and her MD at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She completed her residency and fellowship at the Albert Einstein Medical Center, Montefiore, and Hospital. Dr. Chipty is board certified in Gastroenterology. She joined Digestive Health Associates in 1998 and her general GI practice interests include colorectal cancer screening, reflux disease, chronic constipation and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

Dr. Alka Walavalkar: Founder of Resonance L Nutrition, which specialises in Community & Corporate Public Health Programs. She is a Clinical Dietitian & Nutritionist with over two decades of experience. A certified diabetes educator, she believes and works towards diabetes reversal through lifestyle interventions.

Dr. Arti Bhan: The Division Head for Endocrinology and Metabolism at Henry Ford Health System and a clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University, School of Medicine. She has served on the Editorial Board for Clinical Diabetes as Associate Editor and has been published in peer reviewed literature.
