The Tragedy of Karbala - Solace for All Grief

Our lament for the martyrs of Karbala is unlike any other grief. Although innumerable tragedies and calamities have befallen since then, whether they are atrocities or natural disasters, at some point they are relegated to the annals of history. Not Karbala. We mourn Karbala as though we had seen it with our eyes.

A Wave Like the Mountains – A Series on the Events After the Wafaat of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Aqa RA

This Sijill article is the first of a ten-part-series by Shehzada Dr Abdeali Bhaisaheb Saifuddin on the detailed events after the wafaat of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Aqa RA.

The Month of Milads

The month of Rabiul Aakhar is indeed the month of Milads: the Milad of Imam-uz-Zaman on the 4th and the Milad of three Dais, the 52nd, 53rd  and 54th Dai-z-zaman TUS (20th, 29th and 26th Rabiul Aakhar respectively). The flow of barakaat continues from the beginning of the month right until the end.

A Wave Like Mountains Part 2: The Calm in the Eye of the Storm

The darkness of the night after Syedna Burhanuddin RA passed away lasted for many days - the sun of our lives, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin was no more. The thickness of the heavy clouds that darkened the skies seemed ever increasing as we faced the most testing hours, days and months of our lives. Our beloved Dai’s janaza mubaraka was to be taken to Saifee Masjid from Saifee Mahal the morning after wafaat.

A Wave Like the Mountains: Part 3 – The Lion of the Lion of God

In the height of the full scale attack on Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin immediately after the wafaat of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA, there was a sea of calm but intense activity in the inner sanctum of Syedna Qutbuddin’s residence Darus Sakina in Thane; surrounded by an ocean of cursing, attacks, violence and fury perpetrated by the Shehzada Mufaddal and his coterie.

The Shanaat of the Takht of Dawat

On the joyous occasion of his Milad Mubarak on the 26th of Rabiul Aakhar, we celebrated the Takht Nashini (Eid-ul-Istiwa’) of the 54th Dai al-Mutlaq, Syedna Taher Fakhruddin TUS. It was a happy coincidence that Syedna completed fifty years of age on this Milad. It was also a happy coincidence that the tarikhi naam (the historical name - the numerical value of which according to the “abjad” counting method equals 1438, the current Hijri year) that was derived for this occasion was “the shanaat of the takht of Dawat” (shanaatu ‘arshid-da’wah – 1438H).
