How can you be close to Allah Taala? The closest you can be is when you sacrifice: for your loved ones, your family, your community, for Dawat. Aqa Maula Syedna Taher Fakhruddin TUS bayan was a spellbinding journey into the deepest corners and the highest peaks of Dawat history and philosophy. Syedna illustrated priceless lessons and inspirations for our life and for the Hereafter. It was as if during waaz mubarak we were enveloped by divine light, nur.
Aqa Maula Syedna Fakhruddin recited the verse of the Quran, “We sacrificed on him a great sacrifice” (wa fadaynaho bi zibhin azeem)and explained 7 facets of this verse. The first was Ibrahim Nabi AS. It is not reasonably fathomable that Ibrahim Nabi would prepare to cut the throat of his son Ismail, which is how people generally interpret this Quranic verse. There is, in fact, a deep meaning to this verse. In challenging circumstances, Ibrahim AS was preparing to give his son and successor as Imam, Ismail, the charge to conduct Dawat among the people. Then the command came from Allah Ta’ala to let Ismail be in seclusion in peace and to appoint Ishaq, his brother, as his regent to conduct Dawat among people, and thus be sacrificed on his brother Ismail, the Imam of the time.
Syedna also gave the example of Mohsin, the unborn son of Maulatuna Fatema AS who was murdered by enemies in her womb; Imam Husain SA, who sacrificed not only his life, but his brothers, children, and companions for the preservation of the Dawat of Rasulullah; the Dai-l-Mutlaq, who has been made a sacrifice on the Imam who is in seclusion and peace; Syedna Qutbuddin Shaheed RA who gave his life; Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA who said when he received death threats from enemies of Dawat, “do not try to frighten me with death, my forefathers have sacrificed with their lives for Dawat”; Syedna Burhanuddin RA, and Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin RA, who did not pay heed to the attacks from Dawat’s enemies, rather he sacrificed his wellbeing, his family, and his life for the preservation of Dawat, he fought for the souls and lives of Mumineen and put everything on the line.
Each of us, Syedna Fakhruddin TUS said, must sacrifice for each other, and show each other understanding. Syedna explained, “We are all going to be together in Jannat, so why fight here?” Rasulullah said “be kind even to those who do ill towards you.” This philosophy is the foundation of prosperity, well-being and happiness for each of us, for our family, and for the community and society.
Maulana TUS emphasized that above all, we must sacrifice for Dawat. Rasulullah SA said, “pray when people are sleeping.” It is in times when most people are under duress, or are afraid, or are misguided that it is most meritorious to rise up and act on our principles and serve Dawat.
Syedna Fakhruddin TUS prayed shahadat of Imam Husain with immense fervour for about 20 minutes, recounting how Imam Husain called out to his Nana Rasulullah, his father Ali, his mother Fatema, and his brother Hasan, when Shimr drew his blunt blade across his throat 12 times. It was as if we were in Karbala, our hearts melted, tears poured from our eyes.
May Allah Ta’ala forever keep Husain’s Dai, Syedna Taher Fakhruddin Aqa, and Mumineen in his cool shade, in health, happiness and prosperity always.
