Many years ago, shortly after the wafaat of Syedna Taher Saifuddin Aqa RA, Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin TUS purchased a piece of green land at the outskirts of Thane near Mumbai. The payment for this land came from the monetary gifts (Shehrullah Silat inayat) that Syedna Taher Saifuddin had bestowed Syedna Qutbuddin and other savings.

Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA bestowed his doa and raza, and with the ilhaam of God and his Wali, bestowed the name “Darus Sakina” to this land. “Darus Sakina” has several meanings in the Arabic language, including “House of God-given Peace and Tranquility”, “House of Victory”, and “House of Compassion and Mercy”. Dawat Kitabs also provide a higher and lofty meaning: “House of Divine Inspiration (ta’īd)”.

Syedna Burhanuddin bestowed such a name to this piece of land, which today it has truly come to embody in all its meanings. Indeed, Darus Sakina today is the place where the true successor of Syedna Burhanuddin resides, and from it, confers hidayat and guidance and the promise of salvation to all those who answer his call of Haqq. Therefore, even in these tumultuous times, by the Graces of Imam-uz-Zaman and the nazaraat of Syedna Burhanuddin, Darus Sakina is a place of God-given peace and tranquility, a place of victory for Haqq, and a place where mumineen can obtain the Rehmat, the compassion and mercy of God and His Wali. It is a place where the ta’īd of the Imam flows ceaselessly towards his Dai.

Having bestowed this mubarak name, Syedna Burhanuddin then gave azeem sharaf and barakat to Darus Sakina by gracing it with his holy presence and residing in it for several days many times during his mubarak years as Dai. He also personally toured the grounds of Darus Sakina several times, bestowing every corner of it with his barakat, doa and shifa.
