This is a photo of Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA) holding in his hands his granddaughter Shehzadi Dr. Bazat Tahera Bensaheba (daughter of Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin TUS) on her first birthday in Karachi, Pakistan, 1385/1965.

Cameras were a rarity at the time, and Taher Saifuddin Mola specially summoned a photographer to take this photo, in order to display it in the grand celebration function that was arranged for doing araz of mubarakbadi in his Hazrat Imamiyyah. He said that in case baby Bazat sleeps, people will be able to see in the photograph whose birthday it is.

Shehzadi Bazat Tahera Bensaheba was born in 1384/1964 shortly after the grand celebrations of the Eid-e-Zahabi (‘Golden Jubilee’) of Syedna Taher Saifuddin. Taher Saifuddin Aqa bestowed her two names: Bazat Tahera (which means ‘A part of Taher’), and Rawdatul Eidiz Zahabi (which means ‘Garden of the Golden Jubilee’). Busaheba Aamena Aisaheba (Aqilat of Syedna Taher Saifuddin, Mother of Syedna Qutbuddin) asked why Bazat Tahera Bensaheba was given two names instead of the usual one, he said: “Didn’t Rasulullah give Fatema more than one name?”

Syedna Taher Saifuddin also told Syedna Qutbuddin that Rasulullah (SA) has said of Fatema (SA): “Fatema is a part (bazat) of me,” and so I have given the name ‘Bazat Tahera’. Later, Syedna Taher Saifuddin also related to Syedna Qutbuddin that he had bestowed the name ‘Bazat Tahera’ with the ilhaam of Imam uz Zaman.

Wal-hamdo lillahe Rabbil Aalameen.
