Ikhwanus Safa Article

The series on the Rasail will focus on the fundamental beliefs and concepts that the Ikhwanus Safa, the ‘Bretheren of Purity’, espouse and their balanced worldview. The articles will choose various themes and aspects from the rasa’il and present them in a manner that is easy to digest and pertinent to the lives of mumineen in 21st century.

The Rasa’il were made public by the Imam and placed in every single masjid in the time of the Abbasid caliphs. They were purposely written in a style and language to appeal to all Muslims. Rasail is the plural of risala, which means epistle or treatise. There are a total of 52 risalas and the 53rd concluding risala is the Jami’atul Jami’a

This series is authored by Shz. Bazat Tayyeba Baisaheb Qutbuddin who has attained the barakat of knowledge of Aale Mohammed for years from Syedna Burhanuddin and Syedna Qutbuddin. She has also been examined by Syedna Burhanuddin in the Jame’a Saifiyyah. She has attained her BA from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. The study of the Rasa’il has been her lifelong passion.
